Jashan-e-Dal, Shikara race from Monday : ADGP Armed | KNO

‘Police keen to organise various sports activities in state’

Jammu & Kashmir Police is organizing State level Jashn-E-Dal and Shikara Race-2017 at Nehru Park Dal Lake, Srinagar.

The three day event is scheduled to begin from September 18 and is being organised under Civic Action Programme. This was stated by ADGP Armed L. Mohanti at a press conference here on Saturday.
While briefing the press about the mega event, the ADGP said that under the leadership of DGP J&K S.P Vaid, J&K Police is keen to organise various sports activities in the State to explore and hone the talent of youth of the State in every discipline of the sports.
He said that all the arrangements have been put in place properly to make this event a grand success. The event is open for Men/Women/Boys/Girls and for all those interested to participate in it, the ADGP informed.
The participants can register themselves at registration counter established at Nehru Park, Dal Lake which is also the venue for the said event.
The participants can take part in various events like Dragon Boat Race, Water Polo, Kayaking, Canoeing events of the water sport and Shikara Marathon Race etc, the ADGP added.
He said that an amount of Rs.3.05 lakh cash prize will be distributed among the winners of all events.
In 50 Meter free style, 100 meter free style swimming of Boys (Open school category) the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position holder of each category will get a cash prize of Rs.2000/-, Rs.1500/- and Rs.1000/- respectively whereas in 4×50 meter relay swimming of boys/girls (Open school Category), the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position holder of each category will get a cash prize of Rs.3000/-, Rs.2000/- and Rs.1500/- respectively.
In Kayaking, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position holder in K-1 200 meter of Men/Women category a cash prize of Rs.2000/-, Rs.1600/- and Rs.1000/- respectively will be awarded, whereas in K-2 200-meter event in Kayaking, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position holder of Men/Women category a cash prize of Rs.3000/-, Rs.2000/- and Rs.1600/- respectively will be awarded. In K-1 500 meter of the said category the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position of Men/Women category a cash prize of Rs.2000/-, Rs.1600/- and Rs.1000/- respectively will be awarded. Similarly, in K-2 500-meter event of Men /Women category the first three position holders will get a cash prize of Rs. 3000/-, Rs. 2000/- & Rs.1600/- respectively.
In Canoeing, in C-1 200 meters event, the first three position holders of Men/women category will get a cash prize of Rs. 2000/-, Rs.1600/- and Rs.1000/- respectively. In C-2 200 meters each category of Men/Women, the first three position holder will get a cash prize of Rs. 3000/-, Rs.2000/- and Rs.1600/- respectively. In C-1 200 meters event, the first three position holders of each of men/women category will get a cash prize of Rs. 2000/-, Rs.1600/- and Rs.1000/- respectively. Whereas, in C-2 500 meters event the cash reward is Rs. 3000/-, Rs.2000/- and Rs.1600/- for first three position holders respectively.
Similarly, in Cano-Polo and Water Polo swimming of Men category, the first three position holders will get Rs. 5000/-, Rs.3000/- and Rs.2000/- respectively, whereas, in long distance swimming of men category the first five position holder will get cash prize of Rs. 3000/-, Rs.2500/- Rs. 2000/-, Rs.1700/- and Rs.1500/- respectively.
In Dragon boat 200 meters (open men/women/school boys/girls) category the first three position holders will get cash prize of Rs. 5000/-, Rs.3000/- and Rs.2000/- respectively. Similarly, in each category of 200 meters men /boys & 200 meters women/girls and 500 meters men/boys and 500 meters women category, the first three position will get a cash prize of Rs. 5000/-, Rs.3000/- and Rs.2000/- respectively.
In Shikara Race open category, the first three position holders will get Rs. 10000/-, Rs.7500/- and Rs.5000/- respectively and Rs. 1000/- each among 4th to 50th position holders.
In water ski event open category, the reward money for the first three position holders is Rs. 2000/-, Rs.1500/- and Rs.1000/- respectively.
The participants will be served with refreshments during the event.

Wishing mass participation of the people, appropriate necessary arrangements have been put in place to make the event a grand success, the ADGP said.
